Official Season Tryouts Complete


Club  Info: Anaheim Surf is an organized youth soccer club for girls and boys ages U8 to U19. We participate in The Southern California Developmental Soccer League, and our club plays 10 months out of the year. Anaheim Surf, formerly known as Canyon PSA, was established in 1998 and started out with 2 teams. We became affiliated with San Diego Surf  in 2011.  Currently, we have 22 teams with 300+ families in the Anaheim Surf Soccer program. Under the direction of Club Director Eddie Carrillo (Men’s Soccer Coach, Chapman University),  Rob Viviano (Former St Louis player & Asst Coach, Chapman University), Romeo Aguinaldo – Skills & Training Director, Club Goal Keeper Coach, Bob Amman (Men’s Head Soccer Coach, Cal State Fullerton 1995-2005) and Jose Vasquez – Technical Director, Former LA Galaxy player and Hall of Fame Inductee, Anaheim Surf provides a very experienced and professional staff. We are a strong competitive club that continues to grow and thrive with the focus to develop solid players on and off the soccer field. Through the years our Alumni has grown strong and our players have become collegiate players.  Our players are recruited from the Orange Unified School District area as well as players from the North Orange County areas.

Team Selection Process : During tryouts, each age group is evaluated by several of the Club’s professional coaching staff along with the Club Directors, each Coach will select their players for the teams for the 2018-2019 Fall season.  We will be looking for Flight 1, Flight 2, Flight 3 Teams for all Age groups.

Club Training:  Competitive teams, 2010 thru 2006’s typically train two days per week for 1 ½ hours. 2005’s and older, typically train two to three days per week for 2 hours. Training fields are Serrano Elementary and Villa Park High School. Currently, high school aged players receive additional sessions, which among other things, specialized strength and conditioning, life skills training, and college recruitment preparation.



Eddie Carrillo— Club Director. Anaheim Surf was founded and has been under the direction of Eddie Carrillo since 1998. Eddie is currently the Director of Coaching @ Chapman University. Eddie has over 25 years of coaching experience with both men and women at the College, High School and Club levels. Chapman University is one of the top Division III University’s in the west region and is a perennial NCAA tournament participant.  Eddie is a math teacher in the OUSD and resides in Anaheim Hills area.

Jose Vasquez – Club Technical Director. Former LA Galaxy and Hall of Fame Inductee.  Jose has been an icon in the soccer community.  His experience playing professional soccer in Mexico and the United States is an incredible asset to all of our Anaheim Surf players.  Anaheim Surf is proud it provides its’ players with access to one of the best players to come out of Southern California.  Jose is currently the Men’s Soccer Coach at Santa Ana College.

Rob Viviano– Boys Youth Director.  Rob joined Anaheim Surf in 2012.  Rob brings over 7 years of coaching experience to Anaheim Surf.  He is a former player at St. Louis University, won a U18 National Championship.  Rob coached at McKendree University and is currently the Assistant Coach at Chapman University.

Romeo Aguinaldo – Director of Skills Training.  Romeo has over 30 year’s experience coaching at various levels both with boys & girls.  He has been a trainer & coach for multiple soccer clubs and teams throughout Southern California, including West Torrance HS, Cypress HS, St. Joseph HS, Beach, Gold Coast, Force, and many others; and has earned multiple regional, state, and national championships.

Bob Ammann– Club Goal Keeper Coach.  Bob joined Anaheim Surf in 2010.  During his Senior years, he played soccer from 1987-94. College years he played for Cal State Fullerton, 1983-86.  Bob was the Head Men’s Soccer Coach, Cal State Fullerton, 1995-2005. Anaheim Surf is very fortunate to have a designated Goal Keeper Coach who trains and develops our club players that aspire to play at the highest level in the Goal.
